The story of Ella & Süheyl is a duo fairy tale with a happy ending. In Turkey, Süheyl completed a bachelor's degree in advertising. With his diploma and all his work experience in advertising, Süheyl will move from Turkey to the Netherlands in 2022. Here he submits application after application, but he only gets rejections. Süheyl is starting to have doubts: should I do another master's degree in the Netherlands? And in which direction? Or should I look for a job in another sector? He finds it difficult to choose direction and could use some help taking decisions. Well, leave that to Ella. With Ella as mentor, Süheyl outlines his future plan bit by bit.
The duo decides to expand their search for an internship in their sector. And that works! Süheyl is hired for a marketing internship at a Rotterdam organization with a social impact. He loves to get back to work in his own field of work:
“I'm actually really happy that the previous applications didn't work out, because I'm so happy with this internship! I didn't know it would be possible”.
It also appears to be a perfect starting point for his career in the Netherlands, as six months later, Süheyl is offered a job as campaign manager at marketing agency The Next Ad. Süheyl is extremely grateful to his mentor:
“I was so confused at first, I had no direction at all. I didn't think I could achieve what I really dreamed of. Ella and I did a lot of brainstorming. She really gave me the space to think about things for myself. She gave me perspective”.
